Oliver Queen, also known as Green Arrow, is a central character in The CW's "Arrowverse" franchise. Played by Stephen Amell, this version of the DC Comics hero first appeared in the "Arrow" TV series pilot, which aired in October .
He is initially portrayed as a billionaire playboy who, after being presumed dead for five years following a shipwreck, returns to Starling City (later renamed Star City) a changed man. His experiences on the island of Lian Yu, and later travels, transform him into a skilled archer and martial artist determined to fight crime.
Throughout the series, Oliver battles corruption and injustice as the Green Arrow, operating as a hooded vigilante. He assembles a team to assist him in his mission, facing numerous villains and threats to the city and eventually even the multiverse in crossover events with other "Arrowverse" shows. His journey involves struggles with his past, finding redemption, and ultimately sacrificing himself to save the multiverse.
